Santa Barbara community and government leaders gathered Tuesday May 24th to celebrate the launch of Solarize Santa Barbara— a community-led, group-purchasing program for residential solar electric systems.
Offered by the Community Environmental Council (CEC), Solarize Santa Barbara provides local homeowners the opportunity to go solar at a discounted, group-purchase price from two local solar installers. California Solar Electric is proud to be one of the two installers vetted and chosen by a committee of local experts to provide the service to Santa Barbara residents in Southern Santa Barbara County from Gaviota to Carpinteria over the next three months.
During the Solarize program duration, CEC will host these free educational workshops covering solar technologies, energy efficiency, and financing options. Anyone interested in learning about solar is encouraged to attend:

We Are #MillionSolarStrong
Sometime around the end of February, the millionth solar installation came on-line in the United States — a milestone that says as much about where the solar industry is going as it does about how far the industry has come.
“It took us 40 years to get to 1 million installations, and it will take us only two years to get to 2 million,” said Dan Whitten, vice president of communications at the Solar Energy Industries Association #SEIA. “This is a time to mark when the solar industry started to accelerate at warp speed.”

2015 was a record year in the solar industry–and California led the way! Did you know:
-Approximately one in three solar employees work in California
– California boasts more workers in solar than in the state’s five largest utility companies combined
